Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Online Apply

The Indian government has started a scheme called Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana in the year 2015 to provide benefits to the girl child under the Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao initiative. There are some eligibility criteria to open account under this scheme.

The eligible like only the girl child who is 10 years or below 10 years of age will be able to open their account and take the benefit of this scheme. there are many benefits under this scheme like various tax benefits and high interest rate.

Eligibility Criteria of Sukanya Samriddhi Account

  • Girl child must be 10 years of age or below 10 years.
  • The parents or legal guardian of the little girl can open the account for her.
  • For one girl child only one Sukanya Samriddhi Account is permitted.
  • The account for only 2 girls in one family can be opened under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Investment

With the help of participating private or public bank or through the post offices, the investors can apply for the Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme.

Required Documents

  • Girl Child Birth Certificate,
  • Girl child’s parent or legal guardian’s photo ID.
  • Voter id card
  • Pan card
  • Girl Parent or legal guardian’s address proof.

How to Apply for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana?

  • Firstly, visit to the any of Indian post website, RBI Website, participating private or public sector bank’s official website and download the application form from there.
  • Once you download the form then take the print out of that form.
  • Enter all the details in this Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Form. like girl child name in the Primary account holder column, and parent or legal guardian name in the joint holder column.
  • Do the deposit of initial amount.
  • Fill the Cheque/DD Number and date for the initial deposit.
  • Mention the birth certificate details of Girl child.
  • Driving license, Aadhaar card number or other identity proof details of parent or legal guardian of girl.
  • As per the ID documents of the legal guardian or parents of the girl child, mention the Present and permanent address details.
  • Pan card, voter id card details etc.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Online Apply

Firstly, download the IPPB App in your smartphone so that you will be able to do online payments to your Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Account. Follow the complete steps below: –

  • Money must be transferred from your bank account to the IPPB account.
  • Visit to the IPPB app and open DOP Products.
  • Select Sukanya samriddhi yojana Account.
  • Provide your Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account number and DOP Client ID.
  • Now, what amount you wants to pay select that. And also the instalment length.
  • You will be informed by the IPPB regarding your successful set up of payment procedure.
  • When ever the app will conduct any money transfer, you will get a notification in your smartphone regarding that.

Offline Procedure for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

  • Go to post office/bank.
  • Take the application form of SSY.
  • Fill the details in the Application.
  • Also attach the necessary documents.
  • Do the initial deposit.
  • The initial deposit must be between 250 rupees to 1.5 lakh rupees.
  • After this, your form and deposit will be processed by the post office or bank.
  • After this, your Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana account will be successfully activated.

Main Points

  • After the complete 21 years of account opening, the account will mature. Or after the girl child becomes 18 years of age, at the time of her marriage.
  • 21 years will be the investment duration.
  • Per annum minimum investment is one thousand Rupees.
  • Per annum maximum investment is 1.5 lakh Rupees.
  • Once the girl will attain the 18 years of age, whether she is getting married or not, a premature withdrawal of up to 50% of investment is permitted.
  • Once the account will mature then the amount with interest will be paid to the girl child only if she will provide the required documents along with the Application, the required documents such as Residency and citizenship proof, photo id proofs etc.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Interest Rates

  • The Indian government have fixed the interest rate of SSY and this interest rate is reviewed every quarter. For the year 2022, the interest rate for the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is 7.6%.
  • Per Annum Interest Rate of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is 7.60%.
  • Account Maturity Period 21 years.
  • Minimum amount for the investment is Rs 250 per annum.
  • Maximum amount for the investment is Rs. 1.5 lakh per annum.
  • The Maturity Amount based on the invested amount.

Tax Benefits of SSY

the principal amount deposited, interest earned during the whole term and maturity benefits are tax-exempt. The principal amount is deductible under 80C Section up to 1.5 lakh rupees.
