Uttarakhand State Chief Minister has initiated this Vatsalya Yojana in the Uttarakhand State. Under this scheme all those children who lost their parents or guardians during the Covid 19 Pandemic due to corona virus, they will be provided the financial assistance of Rs. 3000 each month by the state government. Until the children will acquire the 21 years of age, they will be continuously provided this Financial Assistance. This Financial aid will held that to at least meet their basic needs for living like food, cloths and other necessary thigs. This Amount will directly be transferred into the beneficiaries bank account.
But to get this benefit, children have to apply under this scheme and must also have their own bank account in which they will receive the this assistance every month. The Uttarakhand State government will also take care of the education of the children so that they can continue their studies and don’t have to drop out from school or college just become of the financial problem. the government will make sure that all these students will be able to complete their education.

The Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Scheme was launched on 2nd August 2021. And Initially, the Application Form Online Apply process for this scheme was started on 31st March 2022. But now the application form date has been extended for two month. The Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has distributed around Rs. 12 Crore to 6000 eligible children On Wednesday under this scheme. This financial assistance will be directly be transferred into the beneficiary children account. and according to the CM of the state the Orphans children will also be helped by the Social Cooperation. The Chief Minister has said that their motive behind released this yojana is to help the helpless and suffering people of the state.
Objective
This scheme was initiated to help the Uttarakhand State Children whose parents are died because of the Corona Virus Infection. The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to these children. The Assistance of Rs. 3000 per month will be provided to the children. Form Filling Process has been Extended

Reservation in Government Jobs
Till now, around 4057 children have been provided the benefit under this scheme. and for the eligible children, the government has also made the 5% reservation in the govt jobs. Uttarakhand state government is also trying their best in skill development of its state’s children. under the Women Empowerment and Child Development Department, this scheme has been implemented. at the time of Elections, the Application process for this scheme was stopped for few months and because of this there were lots of candidates who were unable to apply under this scheme. So, the date of application process has been extended for two months.
Increased Scope of This Scheme
The state government has increased the scope of this scheme. Now, the benefits of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana will also be provided to the children whose parents are no more because of the covid 19 virus infection. These children will be provided the financial assistance by the state government. The children will be provided benefit of this scheme till the age of 21 years. In order to Provide the benefit under this scheme, From March 2020 to March 2021, the total 2347 children has been selected. In Dehradun, 561 children has been selected, in Tehri Garhwal, 249 children has been selected, in Udham Singh Nagar 242 children has been selected, 230 in Haridwar, 120 in Uttarkashi, 213 in Pauri Garhwal and 185 in Nainital. And there are any other districts also were the verification process is still happening.
Implementation of This Scheme
- The state government has given the Responsibility of Selecting the beneficiary children of this scheme, to the Nodal Officer.
- These Nodal Officers have to make sure that the advantage of this yojana is given to all the beneficiaries Children.
- In the Area, Panchayat Samiti, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Child Protection, Gram Panchayat Level, Shiksha Garh, Angawadi Workers, etc.
- The eligible children list will be made and once the list will be prepared, the advantage of this scheme will be given to all the eligible children by the nodal officer.
