Eligibility for KTET 2023 Registration

Category I: – Lower Primary Teacher (classes 1 to 5)
- Candidates need to be completed their Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or its equivalent with minimum forty five percent marks and also cleared the Diploma or Trained Teachers Certificate in Education.
- On the Other Hand, they can have completed their Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or its equivalent with minimum fourty five percent marks and a two year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- They can also have completed Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary with fifty percent marks and have passed in B.EI.Ed.
- Moreover, the candidates need to have a 12th or its equivalent with a minimum of fourth five percent marks and a two year qualification certificate in teacher training course (TTC) directed by Board of Examination, Government of Kerala or its equal.
- Also, candidates must have finished 12th or its equivalent with minimum fifty percent marks and a four years degree in B.EI.Ed.
II Category- Upper Primary Teacher (Classes 6 to 8)
- It is necessary to have a graduation degree in B.A/ B.Com/B.Sc. and a two year diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate, directed by board of examination, Government of Kerala or its equal.
- Otherwise, they must have a B.A/ B.Com /B.Sc with at least of fourty five percent marks and a one year bachelor in Education according to the NCTE latest official notice.
- They can also have acquired senior secondary/Higher Secondary or its equal with minimum fifty percent marks and a four year B.Sc.Ed/B.A or B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed.
III Category – High School Teacher (Classes 9 to 12)
- This exam is for high school Assistant in English, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Sanskrit, Arabic, Kannada, Urdu, Social Science, Physical Science, Mathematics and Natural Science.
- Candidates who are applying for Zoology, Mathematics, Botany, Physics and Chemistry subjects must have an MSc. Ed. Degree in Life science with at least fifty percent marks from any Regional Institutes of Education.
- Otherwise, they must have a degree in the concerned subject from Kerala State any universities or have obtained these qualifications from any other recognized universities as similar to it.
- And also, The candidates must have a BA/B.Com/BS.c degree with minimum Fourty Five percent marks and must also have B.Ed.
Category IV:
- This Exam is for those determined to become Hindi /Arabic /Urdu /Sanskrit (up to UP Level), Sports Teachers, Specialist Teachers (up to high School Level), and art and Craft teachers.
- Candidates who have cleared as Hindi/Sanskrit/ Arabic and Urdu Language Teachers (up to UP Level) Sports Teachers, Specialist Teachers can apply for category Four Exam.
- Moreover, Candidates who have a certificate/ Degree /Diploma in teaching in any subject, accepted by Universities /NCTE /Board of Examinations Government of Kerala, are eligible to apply for KTET Category Forth Exam.
