The Indian Central Government has Started this Atal Bhujal Yojana, the attention will be put on the community engagement and demand intervention for maintainable groundwater management in seven identified water stressed areas of the country. The scheme foresee better source sustainability for Jal Jeevan Mission, Positive addition to the Goal of doubling farmers’ income and behavioral change in the community to facilitate water use. Six thousand crore rupees will be spent by the govt for the functioning of Atal Bhujal Yojana. Among which, three thousand crore will be obtained as loan from the world bank and Indian government will grant three thousand crore rupees. Under this yojana, the amount will be given in the Grant-in-aid form to the state. In the 8353 water-stressed gram panchayats of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra the Atal Bhujal Yojana will be implemented.
A big Gift has been given to the 8220 gram panchayats under this Atal Bhujal Scheme by the National Level Stringing Committee. The Atal Bhujal Yojana Duration has been extended by NLSC for 2 more years. Year 2025 was the last date of this yojana, now the duration of this yojana has been extended by the government by two more years so now it is 2027.
