Via this yojana, farmers will be able to generate electricity for their captive consumption via the grid and will also be able to sell the leftover generated electricity to the govt. Suryashakti Kisan Yojana
The Gujarat State Government has launched this Suryashakti Kisan Yojana. Via this yojana, the farmers can generate their own electricity with the use of solar panels on their farms and they can increase their income. Farmers will also be able to sell their leftover generated electricity to the govt through the grid. For the implementation of this yojana, farmers will be given a 60% of subsidy on the cost of the project by the central and state govt and 30% will be provided by the farmer via loan with an interest rate of 4.5 to 6% and 5% will be borne by the farmer.
25 years will be the total time period of this yojana, this will split into 7 and 18 year period. Via this yojana, farmers will get a unit rate of 7 rupees for the first seven years and 3.5 rupees unit rate for the each unit for the remining 18 years. Around 12400 farmers of 33 districts will benefit from this yojana. This yojana will also make sure 12 hours of power supply at the daytime.

Objective
The Objective of this Suryashakti Kisan Yojana is to give power supply for irrigation to the farmers. Via This yojana, Solar Panels will be set up on the farm so that the farmers will acquire proper irrigation facilities. Farmers will also be able to sell the leftover generated electricity to the govt and that will help in generating additional income. The execution of this yojana will make sure twelve hours of power supply at the daytime. And the living standard of the farmer will also improve. With the execution of this yojana, 12400 farmers of thirty districts will be provided the benefit of this yojana.

- Suryashakti Kisan Yojana has been initiated by the Gujarat State govt.
