Since the 2017, the Telecommunication Department of India is working for the Central Equipment Identity Registration. Now it has developed a portal which will help in tracking the lost and stolen phones. In order to track the phones only the IMEI Number of the stolen and lost handset in India is required.

How to Know About Your Mobile Portal?

A know your Mobile (KYM) Service, has been offered by the Central Equipment Identity Register. Via this service the mobile devices can be checked even prior buying. If the mobile status is blacklisted, duplicate or already in use then do not buy it. Follow the three methods provided below to use KYM. The methods are as follows: –

Via SMS

You have to type KYM < 15 Digit IMEI Number > from your mobile and send it to the 14422. The phone status will show up on your device’s screen.

Through KYM App

You will be able to check the status of your phone by providing Your IMEI Number in the KYM App.

Via Official Web Portal

Go to the Official Website.
Then, scroll Down and click on the option of Here under the web portal.
A new page will open. Here, Enter your mobile number.
You will get an OTP.
Provide the OTP.
Then enter the 15-digit IMEI Number.
After that, enter the IMEI Number.
The Status of the phone will show up on your device’s screen.

See Your Customer App Download

Through Google Play store or Apple App store

Go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your Device.
After that, visit to the search option and type KYM-Know your mobile app.
Click on Install. The app will be downloaded.
Open the app.
And provide the IMEI Number.
Then on your device’s screen the status of the phone will show up.

Via Official Website

Visit to the Official Website.
Then, click on the Download the KYM App link under the KYM App.
After that, you will be redirected to a new page which will contain a QR Code.
Then, scan the QR Code on your mobile.
The app will be downloaded and installed on your phone.
Just open the app.
And provide the IMEI Number.
Then your phone status will show up on your devices screen.

How to Track Lost Phones?

Firstly, a person need to make an FIR Filling in the Name of his or her mobile handset.
Once the police verification will be successfully done, then, the FIR copy will be awarded to the person.
After that, the person have to inform DoT through a helpline no. 14422.
Then the DoT will blacklist the IMEI Number.

Steps to Block the Mobile Set

There are total three ways through which you will be able to block your mobile handset via the central equipment investigation register such as: –

Via Online Registration Form: –

Firstly, a person need to lodge an FIR against the stolen mobile phone.
Then, successful FIR, the person need to take a duplicate SIM Card of their previous number as stolen.
Then fill the Application Form.
After that, submit all the required documents such as the FIR Copy and ID Proof such as Voter ID Card and Aadhar Card.
When a person will e successfully Submitted their Form, then a request ID will be generated.
Keep this Request ID Safe for future use.

The other ways are through TSP and through Central Police.

Unblock Find Mobile

Visit to the website of the Central Equipment Identity Register.
Then, go to the CEIR Services option in the menu bar.
A drop-down list will show up.
here, select the Unblock Found Mobile Option.
A new page will open.
Here, provide the details such as your request ID, Mobile number you provide at the time of blocking, a reason to unblock and the mobile number for OTP.
Select the Get OTP Option.
You will get an OTP through SMS.
Provide the OTP and click on the option of Submit.

Go to the official website of the Central Equipment Identity Register’s.
Then, click on the login link you will get it at the left side of the website.
After that, a new page will open. Here, provide your username and password.
Then, click on the submit button.

Fault Registration

Go to the Central Equipment Identity Register’s Official Website.
Click on the Fault Registration Link.
After that, a new page will open. Here, provide the reason and fault, fault description and your personal details.
Click on the Submit option.

Fault Status

Visit to the official website of the Central Equipment Identity Register’s.
Then, click on the Link of Fault Status.
After that a new page will open. Here, Enter the ticket ID Registered Mobile Number.

Go to the official website of the Central Equipment Identity Register Official Website i.e. ceir.gov.in.
Then, go to the CEIR Services option available in your menu bar.
Drop down list will show up.
Here, select the Check request Status option.
A new page will show.
Enter your Request ID and Click Submit option.
The request Status will show up on your device’s screen.

View Request Status Process

Go to the Official Website of the Central Equipment Identity Register which is ceir.gov.in.
Then, go to the CEIR Services option in the menu bar.
After that, a drop-down list will show up. Here, select the Check Request Status Option.
Then, a new page will show up.
Provide your request ID and Click on Submit option.
The request status will show up on your device’s screen.

IMEI Verification Process

Go to the Central Equipment Identity Register’s Official Website.
Click on the Application Link.
Then, select the IMEI Verification.
A new page will open. Here enter your mobile number.
Click on get OTP.
Then, OTP will be sent on your mobile phone.
Enter the OTP in the asked box.
After that, click on verify OTP.
Provide the IMEI Number.
Click on the Check.
