The Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana was released by the CM of Odisha State. This yojana has been initiated to provide houses to all those beneficiaries who are living in the kutcha houses in the State.
The people who are living in kutcha houses will be provided the pucca houses.

Objective
The Objective of the Biju Pakka Ghar Scheme is to make pucca houses in place of Kutcha Houses in the rural areas of the Odisha State. This yojana is very important and this will improve the living standard of the poor people of the urban and rural areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be permanent resident of Odisha.
- Application who are from economically weaker section, will be provided the benefit of this yojana.
- Applicant must live in Kutcha House.
- Person must not have pucca house in the Odisha State.

Benefits and Features
- In the construction of houses, No contractor will be involved.
- Under the Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana, approval of the house constructed will be provided by the female head of the family.
- Odisha Government will implement this yojana.
- The purpose of this yojana is to give pucca houses to the beneficiaries who are living in the kutcha houses.
- Under this yojana the minimum carpet area is 25 square meters.
- Under this yojana, the roofing material should be of RCC.
- Funds will be deposited directly into the beneficiary account by direct benefit transfer method.
Specification of this Yojana
- Under the official notification of the Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana, according the specifications of the houses, the following specifications have to be adopted at the time of checking the kacha ghar and pakka ghar.
- Pakka Ghar: – Foundations, Roofs and walls made of Sustainable Materials.
- The wall materials are made of burnt bricks, fly ash bricks, Stones, concrete, cement, wood etc.
- Roofs are made up of GCI Sheet, Tiles, RBC, Asbestos Cement Sheet, RCC, Wood etc.
- The Pucca house life span must be minimum 30 years.
- Mud House: – Made of Non-durable materials such as stones, Mud, Bricks, Grass, Reeds etc.
Beneficiaries
- Those people whose house are completely damaged or partially damaged by the man made disaster or natural disaster.
- Flood victims of seas/rivers.
- Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers beneficiary act 2006.
- Extremely poor, deserving families and vulnerable.
- People affected by Occupational disease.
- SECC 2011 registered Kachha House.
Installments
The beneficiaries will be provided this installment in the Odisha District to construct pucca chouses. Under this yojana, the installments accessible are as follows: –
- When the work order is issued, the first installment of 20,000 rupees will be provided.
- when the construction reaches the lintel level then the second installment will be made: – For IAP Districts 35,000, For Non-IAP Districts 30,000.
- When the unit is finished to roof, the third installment is made: – For IAP Districts 45,000, For Non-IAP Districts 40,000.
- The last installment of 30,000 rupees will be provided when the house completed with sanitary toilets and finally, the beneficiaries will initiate living in the house.

Biju Pakka Ghar Yojana Selection Process
- The beneficiary selection will be done by forming a district level committee.
- The district level committee will approve the beneficiary list under this yojana and forward the district collector list.
- From this list, the district collector will inform BDO.
- If the district level committee does not give the list within the stipulated time, then the district collector has the right to approve the list available with him and inform the BDO.
- Then, the final list will be make and published at the respective gram Panchayat/ block headquarters.
- On the DRDA Website and state rural housing portal, the list will also be made available.
