Majhi Bhagyashree Kanya Yojana was launched by the Maharashtra State Government on 1st April 2016 to upgrade the ratio of girls and to promote the female education. If they get vasectomy done inside, they will be deposited by the govt Rs. 50,000 amount in the bank in the name of girl child. Under this Yojana, it the parents have adopted family planning after the birth of a second daughter, then Rs. 25,000 – 25,000 will be deposited in the bank in the names of both girls after the sterilization.

Under the Majhi Bhagyashree Kany Yojana, only two daughters of the same person of Maharashtra will be provided the advantage. The parents will have to be sterilized within one year after the birth of the daughter and within six month of the birth of the second daughter, the sterilization is necessary. Under this yojana, earlier families BPL whose annual income was up to One Lakh Rupees were eligible for this yojana.

As per the new policy under this yojana, the girl child family’s annual income has been increased from one lakh rupees to 7.5 lakh rupees. The Maharashtra Families whose annual income is 7.5 lakh rupees can also acquire the benefit of this yojana.

Under this Yojana, the girl will not acquire interest money. For the first time when the girl will be of six years old and for the second time interest money will be received when the girls will be twelve years old. When the girl will complete 18 years of age then she will be entitled to get the full amount. To acquire the complete advantage of this yojana, the girl must be minimum 10th pass and must be unmarried. Under this yojana, on the name of the girl child or her mother the bank account will be opened. In this account, the amount will be transferred by the state government from time to time to the bank account in the girl child name.

The Maharashtra State Government has initiated this Maharashtra Majhi Bhagyashree Kanya Yojana. This yojana will be helpful in improving the ratio of girls and stop female feticide and sex determination. Via this yojana, girls will be promoted towards the education and chancing the negative thinking of the state people. This yojana will be helpful in making the daughters future bright.

  • Under this yojana, a joint account will be opened in the National Bank in the beneficiary girl name and her mother name. Both will be provided the One lakh rupees accident insurance as well as the Rs. 5000 overdraft.
  • As per this yojana, if after the girl child birth, the family planning is done then Rs. 50,000 will be provided by the Government.
  • If the family planning is done after the birth of the two girls then 25,000- 25,000 rupees will be provided by the govt to both the girls.
  • Under this yojana, the amount will be provided by the State got can be used for the girl child education.
  • The govt has increased the limit of annual income of the family from One lakh to 7.5 lakh rupees.
  • As per this yojana, it is necessary for the girl child mother and father to acquire sterilized within one year of the girl child birth or within six months after the birth of another girl child.
