Maharashtra Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana has been released by the State govt to give irrigation facilities to the farmers. The state govt will give solar pumps to the farming farmers of Maharashtra to irrigate the fields under this yojana. Pump will be converted into solar pump. A subsidy will be given by the Maharashtra State Government to install a new solar pump.

Under this Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Pump Yojana, the state government has decided to give 1,00,000 agricultural pumps to the farmers. This yojana is also known as the Atal Saur Krishi Pump Yojana, Under this yojana, a target of installing one lakh pumps in next three years has been set. The state govt will announce the beneficiaries list of Mukhyamantri Saur Pump Yojana before the 31st January 2019 and the installation process of solar pumps has been initiated in the first week of February 2019.

Objective
There are so many farmers who irrigate their fields with electric pumps and diesel and on this they spend a lot due to diesel pumps are very expensive. The state govt has initiated this yojana, under this Maharashtra Chief Minister Saur Krushi Pump Yojana 2023, the State Govt will give solar pumps to the farmers of the state to irrigate their fields. Under the solar pump yojana, the state govt gives a 95% subsidy of the cost of the pump. Only 5% will be paid by the beneficiary. By acquiring solar pumps via Maharashtra Solar Pump Scheme 2023. The farmers income will raise and they does not need to purchase pumps at a higher price than the market. Because of the presence of these solar pumps, there will be no environmental pollution.

Eligibility Criteria
- The farmers who have farms with assured source of water are eligible to apply under this yojana. However, farmers with conventional electricity connections will not acquire the advantage of this yojana.
- Farmers of the area who are not electrified by the conventional source of energy.
- Farmers in tribal and remote areas.
- Farmers of villages who do not yet electrified because of the NOC from forest Department.
- Pending list of the applicants who are applying for the new electricity connection for AG Pump.
- Water sources are stream, river, self and common farm pond and dug well etc.
- Upto the five acres, Three HP HC and above five acres, five HP DC pumping system will be deployed in the selected beneficiaries farm.

Benefits
- The advantage of this yojana will be given to the Maharashtra State Farmers.
- All the farmers who have less than five acres of land will acquire three HP pumps and Five HP pumps for larger Farms.
- In the First phase of Atal Solar Krishi Pump Yojana, the govt will give 25,000 solar water pumps and in 2nd phase, 50,000 solar pumps will be provided. In the 3rd phase, the govt will provide 25,000 solar pumps to the farmers.
- Solar pumps will be made accessible to the agricultural farmers of the state for irrigation.
- The famers who have electricity connection will not be given the advantage of solar powered AG Pump under this yojana.
- From Maharashtra Solar Pump Yojana 2023, the additional burden of electricity on the govt will also be less.
- Old diesel pumps will be changed with new solar pumps. It will aid in reducing the pollution in the environment.
