Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana LIC

The LIC Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana is a social security scheme under this the person will be provided the coverage for partial and permanent disability to the head of the landless household in the rural areas or to an earning member of the family with the advantage of life insurance coverage. Under this scheme, the Beneficiaries will be paid premium yearly. Under this, the premium will not be asked from the accidental death/disability policy holder.

All those people who wants to get the benefit of this scheme need to make their online registration under this scheme. Under this scheme, the LIC will provide amount of 30,000 Rupees to the family of the beneficiary of this scheme if he dies due to the natural causes. There are scholarship benefits also included under this Policy.

The age of the person must be 18 to 59 years old to avail the benefit of this scheme. The beneficiary of this Scheme need to provide the details of the nominee at the time of complete their application form. The form of nomination will be submitted to the nodal department or to the panchayat. If the beneficiary of this scheme will die then these form will be submitted to LIC with the claim paper

Objective

The Purpose of this scheme is to provide life insurance to the poor families. With the help of this scheme. If the beneficiary under this scheme will die or become disabled then the Financial assistance will be provided to his family. The amount of the financial assistance is From Rs. 30000 to Rs. 75000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Only Indian Resident can take advantage of this scheme.
  • The age of the applicant must be b/w 18 to 59 years.
  • Person must be from BPL Categroy.
  • APL Category people can also apply.
  • Rural landless families can apply,
  • Only the head of the family can apply and there must be only one person in the family who is earning.

Benefits

  • The nominee will get Rs 30,000 amount under this scheme in case of the national death of the beneficiary at the time of insurance cover in poor family.
  • As per the policy the Rs. 75000 will be provided to the nominee, if the beneficiary dies because of Disability or accident.

  • If the life assured person dies then nominee for of that life assured need to file a claim with LIC.
  • Natural or Accidental Death
  • The death certificate and claim form need to be submitted in case of natural death.
  • Then the officer will verify the claim form.
  • Nominee need to fill and submit the form of death claim and with that from the nominee also have to submit the death certificate.
  • In case of death because of accident, a photocopy of the FIR Lodged with local police, police investigation report, Post mortem report, final police report have to be submitted.
  • Once the verification will be successfully done then the claim account will be transferred into the account of beneficiary.

Premium

For the life insurance of up to 30,000 rupees the Rs. 200 premium will be charged annually. And from this 50% premium from the social security fund will be endured by the Union Territory/State Government. in other professional group, the rest 50% premium will be endured by the nodal agency and member or state government / union territory.

How to Claim LIC Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana?

  • The central government will transfer the claim money under this scheme via NEFT to the account of the beneficiary.
  • If the facility of NEFT is not accessible, then the claim amount is disbursed to the account of the beneficiary after the officer approval.
  • The beneficiary can also claim this amount in case of accident or the nominee of the beneficiary can also claim this amount in case of beneficiary’s death.
  • Nominee need to submit the death certificate of the beneficiary.
  • It is also necessary to provide the certificate of the died person of being the family head and only earning member in the family.
  • All the necessary documents with the claim must be submitted by the insured person.
  • Beneficiary need to submit the documentary evidence of the accident, in case of Disability.
  • It is also necessary to provide certificate issued by the govt Civil Surgeon or the government Orthopaedician, in case of disability. and in this it must be written that disability because of accident.

How to Claim In Case of Disability?

  • The insured himself make the claim in this case.
  • The beneficiary need to submit the required documents to claim the benefit of this scheme.
  • The documents like Documentary proof of accident, Medical Certificate.
  • This medical certificate must be the disability proof of the insured.
  • Then the officer will verify the claim form.
  • Once the verification will be done successful, the beneficiary will get the amount in their account.

Scholarship Benefit Claim Process

The children of the insured person will also get the Scholarship under LIC Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana. The amount of this scholarship will be Rs. 100 per month. AT an interval of six months this scholarship will be provided. In order to get the scholarship the beneficiary need to claim every six months.

The process of claiming scholarship: –

  • The child of the insured need to fill the application form for scholarship.
  • In every six months, this form will be filled.
  • Once the form is submitted, then it will be verified by the nodal officers.
  • Then the students list will be sent to the Pension and Group scheme of LIC.
  • This list will contain the details related to the Student like name of the student, school, Class, Policy number of Insured, bill member name, Bank account related details, after the successful verification of the form, the amount of the scholarship will be provided to the beneficiary.
  • The scholarship can be availed on six monthly basis on Jan 1st and July 1st each year.
  • And then the scholarship amount will be provided to the beneficiary, after the successful verification.

Steps to Claim Scholarship Amount

  • Applicant need to fill the form and then submit it to the nodal department.
  • The nodal Department will identify the beneficiary student.
  • Then, the nodal department will submit the eligible beneficiary list to the concerned P&GS unit.
  • On this list the details of the students will be mentioned.
  • The LIC Will transfer the amount of scholarship to the account of student via NEFT in every year on 1st January and 1st July.
