The CM of Karnataka State, BS Yediyurappa on Monday has launched this new scheme called Nekar Samman Yojana. The yearly monetary help plan for handloom wavers was declared by the CM. - Only the Karnataka State Citizens can apply for this Scheme.
- The Profession of the applicant must be handloom weaver.
- The cotton, woollen, silk and other handloom weavers which are engaged in allied activities will also be eligible.

- The Karnataka State Government has allocated 10.96 crore Rupees under this programme.
- There are 40,634 handloom weavers which are registered under Seva Sindhu Software.
- Total 37,314 applications for financial assistance have been approved.
- The eligible handloom weavers will acquire the assistance under weavers sammaan yojana.
- Out of 1.25 lakh workers in the section of Power Loom, one time financial assistance of 2,000 rupees is accepted for 8,897 workers.
